Whatever happened to American Stores' Kap's Kitchen & Pantry Division? It opened its first store in Salt Lake City in 1996 and was described by the ASC CEO Victor Lund as a new supermarket concept.
How many stores did this short-lived division have and did any store site become Albertsons?
Also, what happened to the Boise Savon Drugs that had the first drugstore-based Hot Deli?

I don't know anything about Kap's. I did read that the Boise Sav-On closed about a year after it opened. This was about the time Albertsons abandoned a expansion of the Sav-On chain with free standing stores. Albertsons had plans to expand Sav-On in Seattle and had even bought some land. But the stores were never built. They just started co-branding the Albertsons with pharmacies as Sav-Ons.
