I worked for Sprouse Reitz in the Mid-80s - In Mt. Shasta and Weed CA. It was my first job while I was still in HS.

The shopping center had a Builder's Emporium, Vons, and TG&Y. The Vons is now a 99 cent store and the BE is a swap meet. Lastly, I went over to the old Safeway center in Apple Valley to see if I could get any pics, but the center is so run down it didn't seem worth it.

We had two of them in Carson City, Nevada. One of them was located next to the former Safeway at 2035 N. Carson Street, which is now part of the C-A-L Ranch store. If you go into C-A-L Ranch today, the old Sprouse store was where all the clothing is today. Safeway took the old Sprouse store shortly after it closed - was in the early 1990s, probably around 1992 or so (I was a kid then, so my memory is a bit fuzzy on the year). There was another store located in the Carson Mall, which is currently occupied by a soon-to-be-vacant Joann Fabrics.
There was another store I remember out in Fallon, Nevada - which was most recently occupied by Family Dollar. In addition, there was a store in Quincy, CA which is now the home of American River Hardware. They still have a couple of the old Sprouse carts in the back of the store.
