This 1999 FTC document concerning the Albertsons/American Stores merger claims 2308 Cerrillos was operating as a Lucky as of 1999. What's the scoop on this?

It was a Lucky SavOn for a short period after being Jewel Osco, similar to the stores in Albuquerque. I moved to Albuquerque in 1999 and shopped at Lucky only a couple of times before they did the massive realignment here with many Lucky SavOn stores converting to Albertsons, while legacy Albertsons stores became Raley's.

ETA, this store didn't become a Raley's as they didn't operate in Santa Fe. Instead, this one became a Smith's with a tiny sign that conforms to Santa Fe's very rigid sign and building codes.

Just FYI, I have added some extra details regarding the store mentioned above, and unrelated information on several of the local chains.

The Santa Fe Albertsons are a little weird because they got switched over to the United Division, which doesn't use the Albertsons name in that market. Their stores are merchandised and priced differently (to the point where United Supermarkets doesn't resemble a typical Albertsons or Safeway very closely, and they have some very small stores in their fleet). What ended up happening is that most of the Albertsons actually got "Albertsons Market" signage (officially! It was used in some advertisements and decor in the LLC stores from the era but no stores got it on the outside). The one at 600 N. Guadalupe St. went ahead with the full Market Street remodel, the more "upscale" brand of United (which Albertsons later adopted for Idaho's "Albertsons Market Street", though the Texas ones aren't as big or as grand as the Idaho flagship).
