Thank you for this! It amuses me to see a "No Frills" chain in the table more than it should.

"no frills" (no caps) was a Loblaw banner--the timing is right, but not the location unless they happened to own a wholesaler there. Their main US subsidiary, National Tea, had had stores in Nebraska, but not Omaha and had sold off their more Western operations by the mid 80s, anyway. The timing would have predated NAFTA which would have facilitated trade with Canada. After NAFTA, Loblaw became a major supplier of premium house brands in the US.
It's interesting to see Super Duper which mostly existed in Western NY, PA and Central Ohio, but I also see Red & White which was loosely related to it. Super Duper was a co-op associated with Flickinger as its wholesale supplier. Red & White was more of a franchise but also started by Flickinger although it ultimately was based in Chicago and had a national scope.
