As an aside, in 1979 (around the time American Stores was bought by Skaggs Drug Cos., Skaggs being the surviving company but changing names), Acme closed the Syracuse division, closing 45 stores and moving the other 5 to the Wilkes-Barre division, which I believe ended up getting sold off itself in the early 1990s to Penn Traffic.
