Don't know if it's even being considered for demolition, but there's a small strip in Amsterdam, NY called Reid Hill Plaza located at what's known as the "5 corners." It consisted of a supermarket (first a Save-Way and later P+C which closed at some point in the mid-late '90's), a drug store (first Carl's, then Fay's and eventually Eckerd which I have no idea when it closed) and one or two other smaller stores which I don't believe are occupied either. I posted pictures of the P+C on this board several years ago and wouldn't you know I didn't save them either. Maybe I'll take a ride over there again one of these days.

That is certainly true of the Gloversville Loblaws which opened sometime in the mid 50's and closed in February of 1975 when they moved to a new store downtown. That building stood vacant for OVER 40 years-WOW! Kmart left there when the Rotterdam Square Mall opened (Sept 1988) so that's been empty for 28+ years - if you go back 28+ years from then you get to 1959, when Kmart didn't yet exist.
I'd suspect that the Price Chopper moved over to Altamont Ave around the same time (not the current store but same property).
Not sure just how long the other couple small spaces may have held on, though there is still a Trustco Bank on the property (supposedly building new now but it has been part of the older buildings).
Is that Amsterdam plaza anywhere near the main shopping areas (on Rt. 30)? I'm guessing maybe not?

No, it's actually in a residential area of the city in the area of Route 67 and Chruch St. I'm guesstimating it opened sometime in the early mid-60's. That was a great store.
