Funny thing, the building still exists!
Its across the street from the old Hawthorne Plaza (with the only BROADWAY signage from the 80's)
Here it is today
Today its divided into two stores, a bridal shop and something else.
I found it cause the tower on the CHANELS store is still there.

The photo can't be any earlier than 1949--there is a '49-'50 Ford in front of Friendly Market
