Esther Cramer (Alpha Beta corporate historian) in her 1973 book The Alpha Beta Story wrote that in late 1973 the company was developing standalone Nursery Stores and Travel Agency offices to add to the Alpha Beta, FAD (Food4Less type no frills store), HyLo Drug, and Alphy's Restaurants chains. Anybody have a list of California locations of Nursery and Travel stores or have an idea about what happened to these divisions?

Alpha Beta's Travel Agency and Nursery divisions
The Alpha Beta travel agency was initially called Galaxy World Travel Service and was located at 1060 S. Brookhurst in Fullerton. They seemed to specialize in package trips and cruises out of LA. According to their ads, brochures were available at Alpha Beta stores. Ads appeared in the LA Times in 1970 and 1971 under the Galaxy name.
In 1973 they were then called Alpha Beta Travel Service and had locations at 1318 E Chapman, Fullerton, and 13960 Seal Beach Blvd, Seal Beach. There were also tour desks in Redondo Beach, Costa Mesa, and Laguna Hills (no addresses listed).
By 1976 they had added offices at
9158 Fletcher Parkway, La Mesa
1880 S. Redondo Beach Blvd, Redondo Beach
9616 W Pico, Los Angeles
9100 Reseda Blvd, Northridge
1250 E Chapman, Fullerton
241 E 17th St, Costa Mesa
775 E Foothill Blvd, Pomona
The last ad I could find was from 1978 and the locations were listed as:
4669 Clairemont Square, San Diego
24035 Vista Montana, Torrance
30252 Crown Valley Parkway, Laguna Niguel
27142 La Paz Road, Mission Viejo
along with the locations in Northridge, Costa Mesa, Seal Beach, Pomona, and Los Angeles
All of these locations look to be inside Alpha Beta stores.
