There was a Lucky store in Monrovia on Huntington Dr. and Mayflower (across Mayflower from the Huntington Oaks Center.) It closed about 8-10 years ago when a large Lucky/Sav-On (now Albertsons/Sav-On) was built farther east on Huntington. This store has been sitting empty (as far as I can tell) all this time. It's on a very busy street, at a major intersection. I'm surprised that nothing else has ever gone in there. There was also a Safeway which briefly became a Vons in the Huntington Oaks Center. It's now a Marshall's. Therefore, this general area, which had two supermarkets for a long time, now has none (other than Trader Joe's.)

There's also a Smart & Final a little further West.

This area isn't far from the Arcadia Pavillions or the Ralph's in Arcadia's old secondary downtown mon Las Tunas. As supermarkets have gotten bigger, the number of stores keeps declining and some areas go unserved or get secondary types of supers like Trader Joe's or the Chinese store that took over a regular chain near the Pavillion's.

Arcadia also once had an Alpha Beta (not far from the Pavillion's) and an A&P (the Big Lots) and has survived for years without them.

This store was used as a Halloween store in years past during that time. I think its still empty.
