Does anybody remember Alexanders Markets in Southern Calif.? I don't think that there were very many of them but when I was working for Market Basket Stores (Kroger Southern Calif. Division) I remember them buying 3 Alexanders Markets. One that I heard of had a lower level that was the grocery store loading dock and also store room and they had to take the pallets of grocery items on an elevator to the floor above which was the main sales floor. Haven't heard of too many grocery stores in Southern Calif. with an elevator used to move their freight. I don't remember where the Alexanders Markets were located but was hoping somebody remember where there some of their stores were.
Thanks, Wayne Winterland Jr.

They were sued in the 1950's:

that could have led to them being sold.

Alexanders
My Mom used to shop at the Alexanders market at Valley Plaza in No. Hollywood in the 1970's. It is now a UA or Mann theatre.
