Albuquerque's Pick n' Save (a former Safeway) can be seen in the new movie "Sunshine Cleaners." You can see the exterior two tone sign (with 7Up sponsorship!) through the window, and you get several shots of the vintage '60s signage inside the store.

In the Seinfeld episode, when Kramer is thought to be the SMOG STRANGLER in Los Angeles, Jerry and George ride down Ventura Boulevard (so they say it is), in a LAPD patrol car.
Very clear shot of a former THRIFTY DRUG can be seen.

On EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND, noticed ALBERTSONS-brand cereal on top of the frig.
Re: Supermarkets in the Movies and TV
Noticed on THE GOLDEN GIRLS, Alpha Beta flour in the kitchen.
MOST of the AB red logo was cut off, yet you can still see the bottom of the oval. I also remember the graphics used for the store brands then.

That must've come from one of the many Alpha Betas in Miami! :)

Noticed in an episode of Friends...that Chandler is eating out of a box of LUCKY crackers.Dean wrote:Just saw this episode...and caught the LUCKY graphics immediately.ieguy441 wrote:I remember that too! Quite a few TV shows featured Lady Lee products, most of them taking place where there was no Lucky.ascjon wrote:In an early episode of Friends (season 2 I think), Lady Lee (Lucky) milk is featured during an informercial in which Joey is trying to open a carton of milk. I always loved that since the show was set in New York.
Funny thing too...is that JOEY was supposed to be on Days of Our Lives. That show is filmed in Burbank at the NBC Studios. Not New York. Went to see LENO a time back...the outside waiting area is where they film mall scenes from the show. Coffee house facades, etc.

I like film, especially period documentaries, "shock" films, etc. In Sid Davis' film, "Boys Beware" there is an exterior shot of Inglewood Food Fair as were as other store fronts, and a drive-in about 2:52 into the films. Sid Davis filmed in Sothern California on ridiculously low budges, so this snipet is from the area.

I'm guessing it's just an independent, given the "Inglewood" tacked onto the name.Steve Landry wrote:wondering if that was an original Food Fair build or previously a Fox Market

There was an Inglewood Food Fair located at 468 S. Market.
Re: Supermarkets in the Movies and TV
The Market and the Drive In are still there today. I dont know what the market is today, but the main front has been stuccoed over.

The following are pictures of the former JCPenney site @ the Puente Hills Mall in the City of Industry CA.
This is the location where the "chase" scenes in BACK TO THE FUTURE were filmed.

Noticed on an episode of EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND...that TUSCAN milk was used.
The show was shot in Burbank CA:

Yet, TUSCAN milk is solely in New York & New Jersey:

Talk about having a prop that is accurate for the area where the show is situated!

The 1973 horror movie "Mesiah of Evil" has some excellent interior and exterior scenes from a Ralphs Supermarket. There is also a WT Grant prominately featured in one scene.
