By all accounts, the brave little Grocery Outlet in Altadena (originally a Market Basket and later Ralphs) has survived the fire, despite the fact that the new-build (ca. 2015-2016) Aldi next door has burned. Its survival may be related to its old-school barrel roof design.

The Vons in Pacific Palisades (a former marina Safeway) has also apparently been spared.

EATON FIRE BURN ZONE
Aldi adjacent to the Altadena Grocery Outlet was destroyed down to the building's shell (the attached co-tenant was Dollar King). This was one of the first SoCal Aldi locations to offer self-checkout in Summer/Fall 2024. A few days ago during the one-year memorial services, several reporters from the national networks (CBS News/ABC News etc) were reporting from outside the now world famous "ALTADENA STRONG" mural on the side of the Grocery Outlet building.

Super King on Lincoln Ave survived without a scratch (some reports said that the building suffered some smoke and water damage) but some of the surrounding small apartments/duplexes were destroyed. This location made national headlines in Spring 2025 when comedian-actress Tiffany Haddish stopped by one afternoon and paid everyone's grocery bill during an hour that she was at the store visiting with management.

PALISADES FIRE BURN ZONE
Ralphs lost their Pacific Palisades store (Fresh Fare 705) but the adjacent hardware store (may have been a former supermarket at an early point of the history) survived. Kroger applied for and received permits to begin reconstruction.

Gelsons lost their Palisades store. Not sure if they will rebuild.

The marina Vons on Sunset and PCH survived without a scratch and was the first store in the Palisades burn zone to reopen to the community.
