Has anyone ever heard of this chain?

Apparently were actually a somewhat decent sized chain before disappearing sometime in the early to mid 1970's.

There was an (possibly) unrelated Kelly's Hamburgers in Michigan that had a location on Lafayette Boulevard at Trumbull in Detroit. The site is now a Burger King.

The "Boulevard Burger & Brew" restaurant in Richmond, VA is still operating out of an original Kelly's Hamburgers building

And according to pictures of the place that I found on TripAdvisor, they framed a grand opening newspaper ad from when the restaurant was still Kelly's

It would apear that near the end of the chains lifespand, they decided to remodel their restaurants with a coverd wagon design? (as seen in the middle photo)

I thought that Kelly's went out of business in 1974, however I found this ad from 1976 that has the "KELLY'S" name on it

I put one of the building addresses from said ad into the search bar and went backward and it came up with this ad, showing the actual more well known Kelly's logo

So I guess they made it as far out as 1976.

Apparently the covered wagon design is from a previously occupied restaurant known as "Wagon Ho!"

I heard a few people caim how Kelly's is / was a McDonald's knock-off due to some of their restaurants having a giant golden arch hovering over the top of the building
