Tuxcedo market Atlanta Georgia
Curious if anyone has any info on the small Tuxcedo Market chain that operated in Atlanta in the 60’s? Thanks

Hi Thunder,
David's researched Atlanta fairly extensively, and confirms the following addresses as "Tuxdeo" (sic) locations:
2787-2789 Piedmont Rd NE
3166 Maple Dr NE
3224 Peachtree Rd NE
1705 Peachtree St NE
3663 Roswell Rd NE
The correct spelling seems to have been "Tuxedo," and Tuxedo was apparently an IGA affiliate. When digging around online, I also found some references in 1960s newspapers to "Tuxedo IGA" at these addresses.
The company also had a brief tenure: Its stores sprouted up by 1955, and were gone by 1970. None of those stores were reoccupied by or sold to other chains...they just disappeared into the ether of the Atlanta landscape. And it seems that most of the buildings no longer stand.

"The pale pastels which have been featured in most food stores during the past 20 years are no longer in tune with the mood of the 1970s."
