Why exactly did Acme close these two A-Frames? I would think these stores were profitable being some of the closest to Acme's Denver (Texas) distribution center. But that might have actually hurt these stores, which were low volume. And I heard the townspeople "begged Acme to stay" in both cases.

Hi, I been in both these stores. What I have heard was that the landlords had decided to double the rent. With limited volume it is tough to make a profit under those circumstances.
It!s a shame both were fine examples of an A Frame and a time were a customer could tell one chain from another from the building that they were in.
