I know it is a current event but considering this store's condition and appearance I figured it was worthy of posting here.

The store is a "Ranch" style counterpart to the more common Gable and Marina Safeways of the era it was built. The interior has been updated, I believe, to the Lifestyle decor.

I don't believe it was Lifestyled . I believe its final interior is the 90's country yellow theme.

They had purchased the block behind it with the intent of building a new store, which was delayed largely due to required chemical cleanup needs discovered after the property had been purchased.

A unique store in any case, and one of the last with the circle S's. (Wonder if they'd voluntarily part with them?)

Well those Circle Ss have to be going somewhere (the dump?).

Me, I'll have that Safeway Parking sign.

There was a shorter Safeway like this up at Round Hill Center in Zephyr Cove, NV (I always thought of it as a backwards gable) that kept the original interior repainted (it was like Pollock Pines gable shown on this site inside) until being replaced in approx. 1997.

This is real fuzzy but I think somewhere south of the Interstate in Spokane was one of these buildings, also no longer a Safeway. I'll try to map it but doubt it'll happen.

Try 840 S. Perry Spokane, WA. It appears it got a cheap stucco facade.
