I remember when the Amelia's in Woodlyn was under construction. This was in late 2007, when the whole shopping center got a minor remodel. It was quite a sight! They tore off the old front (not original) and exposed the old Acme A Frame roof and colored tiles. Right in front was an Amelia's promotional car. I never knew it was an Acme till then, but I suspected it. This Acme was built in 1972 as one of the last A Frames, but I think closed in 1979 when Acme moved to the former Penn Fruit nearby. That store (now a Bally Fitness), and the one in Folsom (now a CVS), were consolidated into the current Acme in Folsom right after the Albertsons takeover.

Hi,ypu are correct buy did you also know that the formerAcme in Upland Township now Sams Meats only two miles down the road also closed as part of this consolidation. In truth both of these locations are a few blocks from Chesrter. High crime and Acme do not match and that is the real reason that Acme left these locations.
