I was recently looking through a November 1963 issue of the Columbus (Georgia) Ledger-Enquirer and was surprised to find an ad for Red Dot Stores. There were three locations listed.
Does anyone know anything about these stores? Was it a chain or something local to Columbus?

I believe Red Dot was a franchise or co-op of some sort, like IGA or Red & White. The name has come up in research on other southern cities as well, including High Point NC, where the stores were co-branded with the owner's name or the neighborhood (e.g. Horn's Red Dot or Oakview Red Dot).
