It actually used to be Stats.

The address of the building is:
15801 Whittier Blvd
Whittier, CA 90603

The JoAnn a block or two down the street used to be a market, and I can't recall what it was.

Stats-Fishbecks is based in Pasadena. Its like a Michaels. the original still is open:

http://www.fishbecks.com/

They used to have other locations as well. One was in Downey.

Despite the currentness of their site, I had to chuckle that they list their Capistrano location as being "next to Price Club" which was likely long gone before they had a web page...

It opened as in 1956 as a Nixon's Market, owned by Vice President Richard Nixon's brother Don. It replaced the original store across the street at 15806.

The Stats Party Supply at 15801 Whittier Blvd. in Whittier has been torn down.
Originally it was a semi-open "ranch" style market from the mid-1950s run by Richard Nixon's parents and brothers.
The brick-facade rambling structure replaced their earlier gas station/market that was across the old state highway.
When it first opened, this large modern store seemed strange, as it was way out in the middle of the country in East Whittier.

Correct. It was once a 2-level barker brothers. I dont know if the 2nd level still exists in that store.

There is a second level that you come in the doors through, that lead down below into the 99 cents store.
