Does any one know the history of the old store with a "Safeway" logo over the door in Jerome Arizona?

It was a "Pay N' Takit" which was an Arizona chain that was bought by Safeway in the 1920s-30s...this was Safeway's entry into AZ. I imagine it closed down when Jerome lost most of its population when the mines closed (early 50s)-the closest Safeway now in down the hill in Cottonwood
