The West Covina Kmart (I-10 exit West Covina Parkway) will now have a corporate sibling store adjacent to the Kmart. Sears Outlet is moving in the former Safeway Liquor Barn/House of Fabrics/Joann space on the left side of Kmart facing the Los Angeles County Library building. This is a great supplement to the main Sears store about a block away at the Westfield Shoppingtown. Note that Sears and Kmart are part of Sears Holdings Corporation.

Do they own the building? If they do, that could be a great reason: Free rent.

I'm pretty sure I've seen Kmart and Sears Dealer stores next to each other at some point. Irongate Mall in Hibbing, MN apparently had these two stores next to each other (or very close) at one point.
