The picture attached is the beautiful Oak Harbor Safeway in 1992 while we were changing out the old turn table checkstands and installing checker unloads. That's me tossing an IBM 3663 keyboard into a cart as we were installing IBM 4683 POS. Eagle eyes can pick out this is a classic 1970's Safeway Super Store when big stores with all of the departments became the norm. Deli's were still just an island in the store and hadn't come into their full potential yet. Break rooms and manager's office were located on the second level in the front of the store with an overview of the checkstands thru one way glass.
