Minit Mart

I moved to southwest Washington in 1988, and remember quite a few convenience stores named Minit Mart. A lot of them also had a rotating sign that had the words "quick shop" with a neon lightning bolt at the top of the sign. Some sold gas, usually Astro brand gas, some did not.
Lately, I have noticed a lot of these have changed their name, and are usually independent stores. Sometimes the original sign frames are still in use.
What I want to know...are the few remaining stores with the Minit Mart name part of a chain, or are all of them independently owned?
