Back to the East LA store...

According to an ad in the LA Times dated 2/20/1958, there was a Market Basket at 256 S. Atlantic Blvd. In an ad dated 12/28/1959 that location is no longer listed.

hmm, prado center in Monterey Park was opened around that time. Market Basket must have moved there once the new store was built.

I don't see any stores in Montery Park or East LA the 1959 or 1963 ads. Needless to say I'm working on a list of Market Basket locations that I'm going to try to post this weekend.

Market Basket was located in the 2200 block of south Atlantic. The store building is still there, here is the really long link its just been subdivided. You can tell that this location was big. It closed in the 80s.
