If i remember correctly in an older post, the Alpha Beta used to be down the street a couple blocks, then moved to the current site.

I was at Food4Less yesterday (West Covina) and I noticed one of their house brands, Ranchers Pride eggs. I looked closely at the label to find that it is distributed by FFLS Inc of La Habra CA. I decoded it as Food4Less Stores Inc, which is the Ralphs subsidiary that oversees all west coast Food4Less operations (SoCal, Vegas) for parent company Kroger (the midwest Food4Less is part of the Dillions subsidiary). They also had a weekly ad correction notice that came from FoodsCo (the Northern California operation of Ralphs that still exists besides the 3 Cala/Bell stores), so maybe FoodsCo could also be a phantom subsidiary.

FoodsCo isn't really a phantom. FoodsCo was a small chain that was bought by Boys in the 1980s. It wasn't a part of the Ralphs family until the Yucaipa purchase of Ralphs. Since Kroger only owns the Food4Less franchise from LA County south, the warehouse format stores in Central California are branded FoodsCo.
