Happy Friday night. This one was more interesting (and more of a challenge) than I expected:

Re: NEW: Lancaster PA, 1925-2020
The Sanitary Food Stores listed for Lancaster, they weren't part of the Sanitary chain that Safeway merged with in the DC area where they? We know that Safeway had stores in south central PA but I have always read they were under the Safeway name. Also I thought that the Sanitary name was gone in the DC area by the 1950s. and everything beyond that was Safeway. The Sanitary stores in Lancaster are shown into the 1970s which seem to be way to far forward to be anything related to Safeway. If they were really part of Safeway wouldn't they have become Safeway by then?

No, they were definitely not related. I mentioned that in the notes below the spreadsheet.

Interesting adjectives for sure
Side note and unrealted: Food Fair was testing scanning registers in the West during the mid to late 1960's with their Fox Markets. I was surprised!
