Thanks for taking the time and effort to cover a small corner of the world where I've never (yet) been.
And on second observation: I had no idea that Kmart Foods ever operated in Canada, let alone lasting until the 1990s! I wonder who their grocery partner was in Charlottetown? Kmart ceased to exist in Canada in 1998, and everything about it seems shrouded by a haze of mystery now...

Fascinating place. I'm glad I've been there, but I don't feel any pressing need for a repeat visit. I do wish I'd stopped by that still open Clover Farm store on Park Terrace, though...

Pretty sure it was a Sobeys in all but name by the end. It's the only Kmart Foods store I know of in Canada either.Andrew T. wrote: ↑09 Aug 2018 17:49 Thanks for taking the time and effort to cover a small corner of the world where I've never (yet) been.

Evidently, they did exist. When I researched Chatham, Ontario this year, I discovered old directory listings for Kmart Food and an aerial photo with the sign visible! This particular store morphed into a Loblaws by 1975, so that was evidently their grocery partner in the middle of the country.
