A local 'farmer's market' store recent re-opened near me with a much better selection of food. But that's not the interesting part.
The store carries Alta Dena brand butter. Most supermarkets only carry the quartered pound (four half sticks) in the newest retail packaging. This store also sells the full pound blocks. If I didn't know better, it'd seem that they've got some very old butter on the shelf... or Alta Dena doesn't really care about the packaging on the pound blocks:

The half-sticks have the most recent retail packaging. The Unsalted butter has a logo that showed up in the 1990's, and the salted butter has a logo from the 1980's or earlier.

Very possible, as I'd guess most of the block butter is sold to restaurant or other wholesale customers, who are usually more interested in getting the product they ordered than what it looks like. So not changing would make sense, as it would be easier for them to see that they got the correct product.submariner wrote:A local 'farmer's market' store recent re-opened near me with a much better selection of food.
