Safeways of the 1980s and Early 1990s

Post by StoreLiker2013 »

I am wondering if any of you here would happen to have any pictures of any Safeway stores which opened between 1982 and 1993 (I would prefer to find pictures of Safeways before the "Food & Drug" era)?

My preferences:
Stores would be "Superstores" or "Marketplaces" with buildings sized between 32,500 and 65,000 sq. ft.
They can be either brand new buildings, or older buildings (from the '70s and back) expanded enough to be worthy of the "Superstore" or "Marketplace" monikers.

Thank you,

Well, here is a shot of "Kroger of the Villages", which was an early 1970s build renovated at the last minute of the Texas pullout in the late 1980s.

A few newly-built examples survive. Décor on the inside consisted of pictures of the departments and red neon.

Is that what you're looking for? I have more.
