Re: Bristol Farms
Bristol was/is owned by Albertsons/Supervalu along with the one and only Lazy Acres store in Santa Barbara County. Though part of Albertsons, it operated independently and basic store supplies (especially price signage, free recipe cards, etc) did not come from Albertsons Printing & Supply in Fullerton. Bristol's website never mentioned that they were part of Albertsons/Supervalu except for a logo and link on Supervalu's website.
When I visited the South Pasadena store a while back, I thought that Bristol was not the type of store that Supervalu would own or have a vested interest in operating. This could also be why they closed price-impact Lucky stores as well as the hispanic Albertsons/SuperSaver, and the standard warehouse banners Max Foods and Monte Mart right after Supervalu acquired Albertsons.
