The Watergate Safeway is still there. I was there at the beginning of this year. It is relatively small, but with a fairly large prepared foods/deli section. The rest of the shopping complex is has a lot of take-out type places along with service businesses like dry cleaners, so I'd imagine they try to compete with them.
The Wilson Blvd. location is still a Safeway. I've never been inside, but it's located in a building that's either mixed use or a condo. They have a store like that in downtown Bethesda. Rosslyn is filled with condos and offices. It once was a sleazy part of Arlington. Now it's a monument to 1960s-70s urban renewal--architecturally weak, but commercially successful and walking distance to Georgetown.
