Not sure but I assume the Penndel A&P was a Thriftway at one time.

Food Lion is actually coming to Claymont, Delaware on the state line. The site is an ex-A&P/Super Fresh which relocated years ago. I heard they had plans for Merchants Square, an abandoned mall in Wilmington. Super G/Giant-Landover was to build there but backed out. The Acme A Frame in West Lawn (near Reading) was just torn down for a Food Lion too.

Bottom Dollar also has applied for the former Ferraro Buick-Cadillac dealership site in Springfield (Delco, Baltimore Pike and Leamy). And look for the award-winning diner coming to the old Bennigan's across the street.

The Penndel A&P/Bottom Food was a Thriftway back in the 1980's and early 1990's
