in Garden City on Long Island there used to be a store called Food Basket. It's the only one that I know of. I do not know of any others around. They closed down around 97-98. Grand Union took over the store and called it Grand Union/Fresh Market. They closed around 2003 or so I think. Now Key Foods occupies the space. Does anyone else know of any food baskets?

I never heard of Food Basket. However, I spent most of my time in Brooklyn. Where in Queens was it located? It may have been an independent store of something. Now Grand Union, that is another story. I remember them well.

I don't recall a Food Basket in Western, Ma. I am familiar with Food Market of Western Ma. It was purchases by Waldbaum's in the late 70s, I believe, and then ultimately by A&P in 1986.

I recall there was one in Dolgeville NY until it got burnt down but I always thought it was just a convenience store.
