Black roofed Bi-Lo to be replaced

Soon, an original late 1970s Kroger will be replaced on James Island, near Charleston, with a new concept, Super Bi-Lo.

Now, a new 63,000 square foot store will replace the old Bi-Lo store, and it will be one of only about a dozen in the Bi-Lo chain.

These stores have more employees than a regular Bi-Lo store, about 150, and a wider selection of products.

Here is an article from the Post and Courier:

Yes, I live on james island and that bi-lo is so out of date. The kmart next door has been closed for years and this has been talked about for years. So it is now a wait and see approach.

The only other former Krogers I know of in the area are:
• Whole Foods on Houston Northcutt Blvd. in Mt. Pleasant.
• Sentry Buick-Pontiac-GMC on Savannah Highway.

Anyone know of others?
