The Jewel banner went as far west as New Mexico at one time. Jewel-Osco was the new name for the Skaggs-Alpha Beta stores there when Jewel and American Stores merged (they are now Albertsons/SavOn) There was also a Aldi-style chain operated by Jewel in CA called "Jewel T" during the 80s......

We had a Rhodes operation in AZ that changed to Liberty House also (both were owned by the Amfac conglomerate-this was in their ads)....is the the same Rhodes that was in the NW? Liberty House in AZ sold out to Joske's of Texas, who was later sold to Dillards.
