Re: Miracle Mart in Toronto
That store is still there today at Yonge and Sheppard. It's now a Metro (ex-Dominion).

Toronto: 1958 Grand Union nominated for designation
Despite imminent redevelopment of the rest of the shopping center, the former Grand Union supermarket at 15 Ellesmere Rd. in Toronto, later a Dominion and now a Metro, was nominated for historical designation by the Scarborough Community Council. It opened August 20, 1958, and represented the ...

Re: Dominion Name Starts to Disappear in Ontario
While looking at several ads on Flickr pages I ran across this one for Dominion stores (as featured in Better Living magazine, June 1953):

Dominion Name Starts to Disappear in Ontario
This past weekend marked the conversion of the first 6 Dominion Stores to be converted to Metro. I can't believe Metro is getting rid of an iconic name. By the end of the year, the Dominion name will be gone in Ontario. By the end of 2009, the A&P, ...

Re: Those little roller-coaster things groceries traveled on
... the store renovation means parcel pickup will still be around in at least 1 Ottawa location for years to come. Here's a couple of photos of a Dominion in Mississauga, ON with parcel pickup where I managed to show the rollers/bins in great detail: http://www.flickr.com/photos/78111739@N00/313443076/in/set-72157594404409234/ ...

Interesting Older Dominion/A&P Locations in Toronto
Carry-over from another thread: One store I'd recommend visiting is this Dominion in Mississauga (western Toronto suburb). It's one of the few A&P/Dominions left that still has a parcel pickup. Here's a couple of pics I've taken of it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/78111739@N00/324452982/in/set-72157594404409234/ ...

There's also this really amazing one which was mentioned in another thread, but apparently was always a Dominion:

A&P acquired Dominion in the 1980s, but what happened to Steinberg's? Per Wikipedia, their stores were former Grand Union stores purchased by the Steinbergs in 1959. Another post here suggested that the Steinberg family of Montreal ...

... I almost spit out my soda when I saw this amazing specimen. Based on the fact that it's now a Food Basics, I'd guess it was formerly a Dominion store, since it sure doesn't look like any A&P I've ever seen. However, I'm not all that familiar with their prototypes. On a related subject, ...
