the king kullen still stands. the a&p is gone though, it's a tj maxx now. the waldbaums that was built in the mid 80's as they closed the a&p is also gone. staples moved in there with a pool supply store. waldbaums built a new store in a new shopping center about 2 miles west of that site. (...

i stand corrected. my brother used to work for caldor and i thought he said venture was in california. while on the topic of caldor, does anyone have an mp3 of the caldor theme song? i have it on on tape somewhere, but i havent been able to locate it.

in NY most of the woolco stores were scooped up by the mighty Caldor chain (sister chain was venture stores in california) Caldor operated the stores approximately 15-18 years before going bankrupt. now, the majority of those locations are occupied by Kohl's.

they are before my time, but i know of 2 that used to be on long island. 1 in middle island, which after it closed, it remained empty for years. in 1 section-anchor bank had a branch, and next to it the public library was located. the 2 stores took up maybe 20% of the whole place. the store was demo...

Dual Entrances

There is a Pathmark by me that has two entrances. One in the front, and one in the side. There is a ton of wasted space but the store is huge none the less.
