Re: Vidalia, Georgia Piggly Wiggly Marina-style store
I have an update for the 1960 Piggly Wiggly in Vidalia Georgia. The property has been renovated by a local church still leaving a hint of the old "marina" style appearance. Here are my recent photos. The front parking lot was closed off. So the photos were taken from the street. http://edr...

The store in Forest Hills by 108th St. (91) is exactly as Waldbaums was when it closed inside...the office and the registers are from 10 years ago+... Our own brand of a great vaca! ...

Former Centennial A&P's in Queens, NY
So many former A&P stores, very little time to find them. I think at one point you only needed to walk a few blocks in most parts of Queens to find an A&P store. There were many "centennial" types and lookalikes as well. This is just a few examples that I know personally. Northern ...

Waldbaums, Queens NY (Corrected and added Photos)
I finally made a visit to New York since I discovered Groceteria and while in New York I snapped as many photos as possible during my runaround in the area. I lived in New York in the early 1980's and had relatives there while growing up. This post is for WALDBAUMS, a former supermarket chain of its...

Re: Save-Rite
While I know there are no more Save-Rite stores in Georgia, to the casual observer, there are. When the stores closed, it seems as if they simply turned off the lights and went home. Several of the stores still have their signage intact, both on the front of the store, and on pylon signs next to th...

The new RITE AID sign here is not contained in the oval. http://www.edricfloyd.com/DSCN4595.JPG This store sits just a ...

BTW.....the Walgreens in Ft. Lauderdale is much newer than that. There is a store behind it that was a Walgreens and now a liquor store. Are you thinking about that one? The new Publix and Walgreens were erected within a few months of each other (2005?). I remember the older Walgreens which was bui...
