Re: Safeway Locations in Toronto
... locations. This was probably Safeway's peak in Ontario. They sold their stores to the Oshawa Group following an unsuccessful attempt to purchase Dominion in 1984. Since Sobeys ultimately purchased the Oshawa Group stores, they owned lots of former Safeway locations in Ontario long before they ...

Re: 5915 Yonge, North York ON
The small Metro on Yonge was formerly Dominion, but was originally an A&P. At least as recently as a few years back, I believe it still had an A&P parking sign in the back lot. I may have a picture somewhere. I'll look and add it if ...

... store is gone, too. Further down Yonge, by Eglinton I think, there is still a Metro that might be 10K sf if it's lucky. I remember this one as a Dominion. I think I posted a shot of it somewhere. In eastern Mississauga there is an old Dominion that still stands along the QEW...gable roof, like ...

... usually renovate pretty heavily to the point the old facade is barely recognizable. That old A&P futurestore I posted about in Culpeper, VA in Dominion Square is going to become either a TJ Maxx or Marshalls. There have been a couple of 60's-early 70's era grocery spaces in the the Atlanta ...

Re: Dominion Square - Culpeper, VA
I concure with the rest of the posters that it was 100% Indeed an late 80s-original Superfresh as this was the exact building style that A&P used for just about every new store during that prosperous period for the company. examples can be also seen in Bristol PA, A Baptist Church in North Phila...

Re: Dominion Square - Culpeper, VA
Good to know, thanks for your help. I doubt it will look like this for much longer since its the last area of this center to receive any kind of update. The new tenant will probably do away with the whole facade and put up some foam stucco monstrosity since it'll probably turn into some sort of depa...

Re: Dominion Square - Culpeper, VA
I'm almost certain it's an A&P variant that probably last operated as a SuperFresh (and maybe opened as one). I would agree with SuperFresh, and possibly even Sav-A-Center later in life... both used kelly green as their primary colors, both were A&P stores, and the facade is very characteri...

Dominion Square - Culpeper, VA
My work mostly consists of documenting existing retail spaces for new tenants to move into and every once in a while I get an interesting space to draw up that I can't figure out what it was. Maybe its because most of my work has been centered around the SE and Upper Midwest until recently, but the ...
