Re: Vons on La Tijera Blvd

Just passed by this VONS today and noticed the signage was taken down on both side of the store! Is the store closed for good getting a major remodel?

Re: Ralphs - Crenshaw/Rodeo

That's actually the sign package that was used in the Alpha Beta-to-Ralphs transition (the store was a Boys but the transition was the same). They would close the store for a couple of days and install this package while Ralphsifying the rest of the store. As each store got fully remodeled they wou...

Re: Ralphs - Crenshaw/Rodeo

I have one more since I got distracted from shopping for some grocries. I will be stopping in again soon to get some more photos of the entire store. The store itself is run down in a low/middle class area but has a service deli, bakery, service meat and service seafood. http://i99.photobucket.com/a...

Ralphs - Crenshaw/Rodeo

Hey all, I recently visited this Ralphs and noticed the decor is a package I have never seen. The department signs were moved next to there original spaces which looks to be Ralphs 80's font. White and Pink neon throughout the store. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l307/stepsbuzz/IMG00145-20100129...

Re:

The Ralphs on Crenshaw and Rodeo was a Boy's Market and was converted to a Ralphs in 1995. Wasn't this store always a Ralphs? The photo from 1942 shows a Ralphs which looks to be the same building as it's in now. Unless Ralphs sold the building to Boy's Markets and then aquired Boy's later on and c...

Circuit City Culver City becoming a Sprouts Farmers Market

The former Curcuit City store on the corner of Slauson/Sepulveda is becoming a Sprouts Farmers Market according to the sign hanging out of front of the building. Seems this is a small chain with a few stores spread across about 5 states states.

Vons on La Tijera Blvd

Hey Guys, what's the history behind this Vons? I know it's an original Vons and pretty run down. Here is a pic of how it looked back in the 1950's (which btw is a better look then the current one). It looks at some point the moved the door from under the glass windows to the wall to the right. The s...

Re: Vons stores with old interiors

Passed by a VONS in Pasadena today....It's on Colorado (forgot the cross street). It looks to be a large store with the Red/White decor. The outside looks to have gotten a face lift, but the inside was left untouched for some reason.... The only VONS in Pasadena is on Sierra Madre Blvd between Waln...

Re: LA Safeways That Became Vons

have you noticed this before? Did this ever change when it became VONS...or has it remained the same since it was converted?! I believe they switched to "VONS" when VONS took over Safeway Stores (since Safeway at the time of the 1988 Buyout weren't majority stake holders?). My credit card...

The store on Hollywood Blvd is pretty new (less then 5 years I believe). I wonder what they could put there....it's prime real estate so I doubt it would be vacant for long.

The Thrifty Jr. on Figueroa (not sure of the cross street) near USC is a Goodwill now. The goodwill store still has the oval street sign.

Re: Old JC Penney's ad

There is also an older store in downtown San Fernando though I've never been in it and it's likely in a similar situation and demographic as the Huntington Park store, the nearest mall stores being in Northridge and Glendale. It still has the pre-stylized logo sign. If these stores weren't profitab...

I find it repulsive that this induvidual had the audacity to even demand what he did in such a manner. Judging by his grammer alone, he is an very ignorant person. Everyone on here appreciates your work you put into this site and to have this person threaten you with such nonsense makes him truly pa...
