Re: Mayfair: 1970 San Francisco Bay Area Locations
Karen, thanks for your detailed memories. When I look at that area, I always wondered what kind of grocery store used to be in the building, and now I know it way the Mayfair. It is really interesting to know where the first Mervyn's was, too.

Re: Goodbye Mervyns?
In Newark, California, Mervyn's had moved out of an anchor spot in Newpark Mall and into a new building just across the street from the old location. This just happened this year.

Builder's Square
I noticed in the Wikipedia article on Builder's Square that Alabama is not listed as one of the states that it operated in. I'm sure that there used to be a location in Huntsville, Alabama, that is now a flea market. Does anyone have a list of locations or a link to form Builder's Square locations? ...

Re: Long's Drugs being bought by CVS and will disappear by 2009
Speaking of small Long's, there used to be a really small location at 3670 Bel Aire Plaza in Napa. I think it was either absorbed into the new Whole Foods or Trader Joe's there because the address doesn't seem to exist anymore when I checked http://www.bellaireplaza.com. This one was about a block a...

Re: Older McDonald's Locations
I saw this newspaper article this week about a McDonald's in Huntsville, Alabama that still has the original single arch sign that is going to be removed while the building is being remodeled. The sign is going to the American Sign Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio. http://blog.al.com/breaking/2008/04/sing...
