Re: What happens to ex-Circle Ks....

I tried your streetview link and it did not work but the previous link does work now. I am always looking for photos of Circle K buildings across the U.S. and would definitely like to see it.

Re: Does anyone remeber Fazios?

That would be N/W corner of Ball/Walker. Market at Ball and Valley View was built on an old dairy site as Albertsons and now is Stater Bros.

Re: Can Anyone Decipher How Old This 7-Eleven Is?

I would say mid to late 70's approx 1975. most 7-11s that I saw being built were very similar to this. Google the address. You may get lucky and find real estate info with the date.

Re: Mystery market in Laramie Wyoming

Thanks. That explains the "B" and the "S" lettering on the "BARTS" sign that appear to be re-used from Gibsons.

Re: Pavillions ever in Victorville?

I asked a clerk there that same exact question. It does look like the Pavilions on Spring street in Long Beach. This Pavilions just like the first one in Garden Grove was a Zodys. Maybe Victorville was a Zodys? It also looks like a Vons I saw on Claremont Mesa blvd in San Diego that is also a re-inh...

Re: Smith's Food King in Socal--with store locations

For the purposes of this post, I'm talking about the first entry of Smith's Food King in Southern California, not the short-lived reentry in the 1990s. ... snip ... Valley View at Lincoln, Buena Park--I'm guessing it's the Big Lots http://local.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=pn4xv054y0s6&styl...

Can anyone identify this mystery market in Whittier Ca?

I found an old market at 11201 First Ave. in Whittier. It is now called the Ritz Ballroom. From the rear it appears to be a marina style. My first thought was Safeway but after looking at the sign on Leffingwell ave. I am thinking Albertson's.

For a while the Cypress store was called "Fazio's Shopping Bag" until Albertsons bought them.

TIC TOC MARKETS

Does anyone remember a chain of stores around Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties in California in the late 50's called Tic Toc markets (Tic Toc systems inc.)? This store was an almost exact clone of the Circle K buildings and signage from the same era and I think they were related. Could ha...

Re: Stop-N-Go

As a former employee of stop-n-go I will state that what you discovered is another chain not related to them. National Convenience Stores inc. Houston Texas(owner of Stop-n-Go) was purchased by Diamond /Shamrock /Valero oil co. who still operate Valero gas stations with the Stop-n-Go markets brandin...
