Re: Early Kmart closures (PRE-1994)

There was a very short lived one in the 6500 block of Coal Mine in Littleton, CO. Gone by the early 90's. It's recently discovered on the Kmart Latest Datasheet that they opened November 2, 1978 and closed April 16, 1988. They relocated to a larger store on 8500 W. Crestline Ave where it remained o...

Re: Greatland

There was also a "Target Greatland" concept that started around 1994 or so. My brother did a fireworks display for the opening of one of the first, if not the first one, in Apple Valley, MN. The Greatland color scheme was red and green, I think the outer circle of the logo was green inste...

Re: South Shore Mall, Aberdeen, WA history

The big gaping hole was indeed a Kmart that closed in 2003. There was a second mall in Aberdeen called Wishkah Mall, which was anchored by Lamont's, Ernst, and Top Foods. That mall was torn down in 2000 except for the Lamont's (by then a Gottschalks, now a Ross) and Top Foods (which stayed until 20...

Re: Early Kmart closures (PRE-1994)

I remember finding out that 1710 11th Street in Huntsville, TX was originally a Kmart (later a Hastings for years, ultimately demolished for an H-E-B) but I can no longer find the reference. I found out what the Kmart's clsong date was, they closed December 21, 1990. I found the ultimate Kmart Spre...

Re: Nichols Discount City

There was also one in Painted Post NY, it became Kmart in 1994 and KM closed in 2003. The Nichols/Kmart building was demolished 10 years later in 2013. Also when it was converted to Kmart, it recieved Kmart's Early 90's Arch Facade. A Hotel now sits on the land it was on. I decided to take an aerial...

Most of our stores (Lincoln {1992-2003}, Warwick 2 {1993-2003}, Johnston {1972-2003}, South Attleboro {1992-2017}, Cranston {Both}, and other New England stores) featured Little Ceasars Pizza Station in-store.

Re: Early Kmart closures (PRE-1994)

I decided to bring some up here as well: There was apparently one in Dartmouth MA on 27 Fauance Corner Rd which was an Early 70's store and it closed in 1993. It was demolished for Stop & Shop and Best Buy 7 years after closure in 2000. Also a Houston store from the 1960's closed in the 190's I ...

In Rhode Isalnd, we had to close the Middletown RI location, it opened in 1974 or 1976. It's now Subdivided between Marshalls, Ocean State Job Lot and Bed Bath & Beyond. it think it looked simialar to the Azle TX location but way smaller. I think they only expanded with a Garden Center in the fr...

Re: Target '90s neon

Speaking of 90s Neon, I have someting to say about this topic Speaking of Target stores with 90s neon, I remembered when the Target stores in Smithfield RI and North Attleborough MA locations had the 90s Neon on their walls. I only seen North Attleborough with 90’s neon once in 2010 and the one I se...
