Re: Kmart 2000 closures

They used to be a Kmart at the Lauderhill Mall in Lauderdale Lakes, FL That Kmart was a Zayre until Ames closed all Zayre stores then becoming Kmart in 1992 as a upgrade to replace a smaller Kmart which was no good. The Lauderhill Mall store which opened in 1992 was next door to Winn-Dixie. That Kma...

Re: Older KFC Locations

I can remember a KFC on Community and Military Trail in West Palm Beach, FL. That location was remodeled in 2006 before it had the 80's style look and there is one on 45th and Broadway in West Palm Beach, FL. That KFC still has that older look and not in the greatest neighborhood. ------------------...

Grand Union did have stores in South Florida. Especially during the 1960's and 1970's and all were closed by the mid 1980's I don't know any "business" details, but I grew up in South Florida and I personally knew these Grand Union stores. Pompano Beach (Sample Road)- now a Sav-A-Lot Boca...

Re: Early Kmart closures (PRE-1994)

Digging in Google News archives, I found that the first major round of Kmart closings came in 1994 with another in 1995. However, I have found a smattering of closures that predate the 1994 wave. I'm trying to find any Kmart stores that would have closed before that point and were not replaced by a ...

Re: KMart Cafeteria and Other Restaurants

Raised in Central California and San Diego, I remember KMart would have a yellow company cafeteria inside all their stores til the early 1990's. I vaguely remember the name, but it had a 70's yellow exterior glass around it. It was usually in a box centered in the back of the store, there was a cou...

The Lake Park/Northlake, FL Kmart a (ca.1974) location has the 1970's/1980's orange decor in the back of the store , since the store was remodeled around 1991/96 , the wall was place to cover that 70's wall ------------------------------------ WinnDixie Publix Southfloridaretailgrapher, and resourcer
